🔥 DJ Gear...
🔥 I started out with a Denon MC3000 and was hooked instantly. Virtual DJ and that controller helped me get started playing parties and functions.
🔥 I then dabbled in Pioneer CDJs, CDs and a DJM-250(mk.1) which I loved too, but found CDs limiting. Plus controllers have way more functionality.
🔥 After trying Serato and Rekordbox, which I love both equally, I've come back to using Virtual DJ. The stems and flexibility of it is un-matched.Â
🔥 I've tried vinyl/turntables, but have never gigged using them.
I guess I missed all that and just went straight to digital DJ'ing.Â
🔥 I also still use my CDJ1000mk3's and DJM250 mixer occassionally, and in the future, I may swap to modern CDJs, but again, loving using a laptop and controller right now.
🔥 DJ Controllers:
🔥 Pioneer DDJ-SR
🔥 Numark Mixtrack Platinum FX

🔥 Nov 2024 - Numark Platinum FX Backup Unit | New Stream Setup | Nov 2024
🔥 Right after I'd re-designed my streaming setup so I could do away with using my Mobile DJ booth for livestreams, my trusty DDJ-SR developed an LED fault. A quick trip to Cosmic Electronics in Harlow, Essex and all was well again. Â
🔥 For the new live stream setup, I wanted to make a standing shelf to allow me to live stream without rigging up my mobile DJ booth. I love it, so quick and easy!
🔥 This time however, I was without a DJ controller, so I decided to get a backup unit. I tried the Pioneer FLX4, great little beginner/backup unit but the winner for me was the Numark Platinum FX. This will be useful having two DJ Controllers. Great jog wheels, handy on jog displays. Great price, can recommend!
🔥 My goal is to grab the FLX10 or better still a standalone Pioneer XDJ unit in the future, so if you wanna help with that you can donate here. Thanks! Â
🔥 2024 - Twitch DJ Live Streams - The "Booth" Era (Aug-Oct 2024)
🔥 This rig was quickly cobbled together to make a 4-deck streaming unit. As I had nothing else booth wise, I had to use my DJ Booth that I take out to gigs.Â
🔥 CDJ100mk3's had Virtual DJ Timecode CDs in them for Decks 3+4, and my DDJ-SR handled Decks 1+2. An old Traktor 6 audio interface handles the timecode from the CDJs.Â
🔥 2014- 2019 | The Mobile DJ Years
🔥 I also setup and founded a mobile DJ company Fast Forward Mobile Disco from 2014-2018 alongside my brother.Â
🔥 I invested in a new laptop and a Pioneer DDJ-SR controller.Â
🔥 I've only documented a few DJ gigs I've done, as I didn't really carry a camera about with me, just got on with the job. here are a few shots...
🔥 I learnt a great deal about working a crowd, and playing open format DJ sets.Â
🔥 In 2019, I went solo as a DJ and continued to take on mobile DJ bookings throughout that year.
🔥 Sadly, when the pandemic hit during 2020, my DJ'ing was put on hold for a few years.Â
🔥 2012-2014 | Humble Beginnings
🔥 I started out in 2012 with a DJ Controller from Denon, the MC3000.
🔥 I would sit and learn as much as I could about beat matching, filters, EQ, and everything I was learning about from making production tracks as a session musician.Â
🔥 I used this until I got my Pioneer gear.
🔥 This is what I learned basic DJ'ing on.Â
